We are looking for a
**Horticulturalist/Admin Team Leader** to join our RiverBend team The
**Horticulturist**, will lead a team of gardeners to complete regular garden maintenance throughout the community. They will be responsible for environmental initiatives to maintain RiverBend Golf Community’s status as an environmental leader. They will also support the Grounds Department with all aspects of administration responsibilities.

About the Role:
- Maintain and enhance environmental programs within the community through participation in the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program, IPM Accreditation Program and the research of other Green initiatives.
- Planning, scheduling, supervision and follow up of all garden maintenance programs and staff.
- Create outreach and education programs to enhance environmental stewardship awareness.
- Participate in the design, installation and renovation of community gardens.
- Maintain files and assist with seasonal onboarding planning, paperwork and scheduling. Coordinate office activities such as scanning, filing, invoicing/billing and handling expenses for the operations of the business as required.
- Design flower beds, cultivate shrubs and flowers, trim and prune hedges and shrubs using horticulturally sound practices.
- Instruct and train grounds/garden staff in routine maintenance of ornamental plantings and landscaped areas.
- Complete weed spraying programs using Class 9+11 pesticides and maintain records in accordance with the Ministry of Environment guidelines and requirements.
- Participate in health and safety and environmental initiatives.
- Maintain respectful approach to residents, golf members, guests and co-workers, interacting with others in a courteous and helpful manner at all times.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Possess a Degree/Diploma from a recognized Horticulture Program, or a minimum of 5 years’ industry experience.
- Customer oriented with the ability to provide exceptional customer experience.
- Ability to work within a team environment, strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Knowledge of the characteristics, growth habit and proper cultivation of a wide selection of flowering bulbs and annual, biennial and perennial plant materials, including both herbaceous and woody plants.
- Knowledge of relevant computer programs and software. Good skill levels in Excel, Word, as well as relevant landscape programing i.e. Dyna Scape.
- Ability to operate mechanical snow removal equipment as required.
- Dependable transportation and ability to report for flexible work schedules.
- Be willing and able to perform physical job functions in all weather conditions.
