**Who are we Looking For?**

We are looking for a **Teaching Assistant** to compliment our team

Reporting to the Program Supervisor, the Teacher Assistant is responsible for assisting the child care centre as directed.

This position will be at our **Ray Lewis C**entre for **27.5** hours weekly,** Monday to Friday, 12:00PM to 6:00PM.

**Pay**:$22.45/hr. (including wage grants)

**What are we Looking For?**

**Experience**:

- Minimum Secondary School diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1-year experience working directly with children OR Related experience in a childcare setting, working with school age children is preferred

**Education**:Diploma in Early Childhood Education OR diploma in a related field is a definite asset

**Certifications**
- Standard First Aid with CPR level C
- Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check
- Proof of up to date immunization for TB, Tetanus and MMR
- Proof of COVID-19 Vaccinations

**Skills**:

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written
- Demonstrates awareness and knowledge of How Does Learning Happen is an asset

**What will you be doing?**

You will be responsible for the ongoing operation of a high-quality childcare centre for children toodler to 12 years of age.
- Work in consultation with other staff to provide age-appropriate development programs to enhance the individual and group’s cognitive, physical, social, cultural and emotional development
- Supervise children at times and ensuring their safety by recognizing potentially hazardous situations so that they may be prevented
- Conduct consistent behaviour guidance in accordance with the UFCC Behavioural Management Policy, while recognizing the individual nature of each child
- Clean food service area, disinfect tables, sweep floors and organize food carts after use
- Collect, wash, dry and fold laundry as needed
