Location: Shannen Koostachin, 110 Bellagio Ave, Hannon, L0R 1P0
Total Weekly Hours: 10 hrs
Schedule: Monday to Friday: 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Pay Rate (per Collective Agreement, includes wage grants): $22.93 per hour

Who We're Looking For
  • Education: A Secondary School diploma (or equivalent) is required. A Diploma in Early Childhood Education or a related field is a strong asset.
  • Experience: At least 1 year of experience working directly with children, preferably in a childcare setting with children up to 12 years of age.
Certifications Required
  • Standard First Aid with CPR Level C
  • Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check
  • Proof of up-to-date immunization for TB, Tetanus, and MMR
Skills & Characteristics
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge of "How Does Learning Happen?" is an asset
  • Commitment to confidentiality, flexibility, and minimal supervision
  • Advocacy for diversity, equality, and inclusion
Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborating with staff to deliver age-appropriate programs that foster cognitive, physical, social, cultural, and emotional development.
  • Supervising children and ensuring a safe environment by proactively identifying and addressing potential hazards.
  • Applying consistent behaviour guidance in line with UFCC's Child Care Centre Program Policy.
  • Assisting with daily tasks such as organizing food carts, disinfecting tables, sweeping floors, and managing laundry as needed.
