Along with our baked goods, we offer single-origin espresso beverages and that's where you come in This is a permanent, part-time position (avg. 15 hours/week). This position is not temporary or casual. We have a small team of energetic, hard-working, fun-loving people who can't wait to welcome another team member Paid breaks, a "staff snack" allowance, and shared tips are just some of the perks of joining our team **In order to be considered for the position, you should submit a cover letter detailing what you would bring to the team and why you'd like to work here Attention to detail is an important part of working as a part of our team and this is a great first indicator of your ability to do this** **Job description** This position reports to the owner(s)/manager(s) and has direct responsibility of ensuring all beverages crafted and service provided are performed with attention to the highest standards of excellence and implementing best practices set forth by the owner(s) as well as other duties, which include but are not limited to: - Accurately grinding beans, pulling shots of espresso, brewing tea, and preparing other beverages according to brew recipes provided - Calibrating the espresso grinder as needed (and knowing when to do that) - Welcoming customers, answering questions, and accepting orders and payments - Scooping and baking cookie doughs - Assembling and packaging food and beverages for sale - Cleaning and restocking work areas, emptying the garbage and compost, and cleaning and sanitizing equipment and utensils - Learning about brewing methods, beverage recipes, and presentation techniques to improve food quality - Taking inventory and replenishing items in display cases and behind the counter - Working as a part of a fun, high-energy team - Adhering to all food safety regulations and quality controls - Maintaining an effective - positive, amicable, upbeat and “smile first” -- customer service orientation - Work directly with and receive support from the owner(s)/manager(s) - Other duties as required **Requirements**: - Excellent attention to detail - Excellent organizational, time-management, interpersonal and analytical skills - Clear and effective communication style, both written and oral. - Good judgment and decision-making abilities while communicating with customers and team members - Ability to learn manual and automated systems/tools - Skilled at working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining priorities and a high level of performance - Ability to walk, bend, and stand for extended periods of time - Ability to carry light loads up and down a flight of stairs - A polite, engaging personality - Commitment to customer satisfaction and service excellence **Education** - High school diploma or equivalent is preferred - Experience (at least 6 months) on a semi-automatic espresso machine with traditional milk foaming skill is **required**.
