**Summer Student - Finance**:
**Key Duties**:

- Assisting with finance department filing, scanning and other administrative tasks
- Assisting with account reconciliations
- Assisting with budget process documentation
- Monitoring financial transactions
- Entering data and maintaining updated records
- Processing invoices, cheques, receipts and other documents
- Communicating with vendors, customers and colleagues
- Maintaining confidentiality of all actions, records and discussions undertaken during the course of duties
- Performing other financial activities as required

**Qualifications/Skills**:

- Post-secondary student - completion of first year college or university in Business Administration/ Accounting/Finance
- Knowledge of basic accounting and finance concepts and principles
- Proficient in computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to work independently on tasks

**Terms of Employment**:

- April 28, 2025 to August 29, 2024 (approximate dates)
- Hours of work are from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday
- Position is expected to work at the Municipal office (Town Hall) at 65 Harwood Ave. S.
- Proof of Enrollment in Post-Secondary Education

**Proof of Enrollment in Post-Secondary Education**:
The Town of Ajax will accept any of the following to verify enrollment in a college or university program:

- Registrar’s letter confirming enrollment and academic eligibility for the next semester;
- Letter confirming your anticipated graduation date;
- Letter indicating that you have more credits left to complete in your current degree;

**What is Offered to Staff**:

- Rate of Pay**:$18.47 - $24.41** per hour
