Hotel Equities, a multi-award-winning hotel development and hospitality management company, is currently searching for a remarkable **Maintenance Manager** for Stoneridge Mountain Resort, Canmore, Alberta

**Job Purpose**:
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for ensuring the upkeep of the property including guest rooms, pools, and facilities. A Maintenance Manager must provide, direction, and guidance to the team, ensuring the property is properly maintained while managing costs. Hands on in all of the day to day duties and responsibilities, supervising the implementation of preventive maintenance and repairs, assists in the administration of the department in compliance with provincial codes and regulations to protect assets, guests and employees. Supervise the day-to-day operations. Recommend and implement procedural changes. Monitor and control expenses. Warm, knowledgeable service and helpful guidance.
- Supervise the Maintenance team members; interview, schedule, train, develop, coach and counsel, provide open communications, make recommendations to performance reviews, resolve problems and recommend discipline, as appropriate.
- Implement and schedule property and equipment preventive maintenance programs in compliance with provincial standards and codes and regulations to ensure safety, convenience and satisfaction of all guests, managers and employees, to protect the assets and maintain the property in first class condition.
- Ensures efficient and effective performance of the maintenance department.
- Responds to customer or maintenance inquiries/requests in a pleasant, timely, and efficient manner.
- Manages, develops, and supports the maintenance team.
- Communicates with other departments effectively.
- Inspect public areas daily for any deficiencies.
- Create in room preventative maintenance schedule and tasks
- Knowledge of repairs may include (but are not limited to) minor plumbing, electrical, heating, cooling, ventilation, furnishings and fixtures, painting, wall cover repairs, light carpentry, door, and window repairs and general troubleshooting.
- Prioritize service requests; schedule and monitor the service performed to ensure customer satisfaction, safety and convenience.
- Responsible for pool operation, cleaning, testing and safety.
- Monitor expenses to ensure budgeted goals are met/exceeded.
- Ensure meticulous cleanliness and orderliness of the maintenance shop and work sites
- Manages maintenance inventory and par levels of supplies
- Observe Health and safety practices and will be a leading member of the Safety Committee.
- Follows company policies and procedures and is able to effectively communicate them to subordinates.
- Assist in the administration of the department by preparing and maintaining schedules, logs, records or other documentation to ensure a smooth operation and minimize liabilities.

**Qualifications and Requirements**:
**Education**:
A post secondary education in hotel management is an asset. Must have excellent verbal, written and computer system skills.

**Experience**:
Must have a minimum of 2-3 years experience in Hotel/Resort maintenance. Preference given for luxury resort experience. Must have 1-2 years experience managing, cleaning, and maintaining hot tubs.

High School diploma /Secondary qualification or equivalent.

**This job requires the ability to perform the following**:

- Excellent hearing required to communicate with management and staff.
- Excellent vision required to visually check hotel premises.
- Excellent speech communication skills required to communicate with management and staff.
- Excellent comprehension and literacy required for procedures, reports, instructions, receipts.
- Conducts performance reviews and performance management when required.
- Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling and carrying weights up to 25 lbs. and greater, for all hotel equipment and machinery.
- Frequent bending and/or kneeling throughout the day for repairs and maintenance of hotel property, equipment and machinery.
- Mobility throughout the hotel, all floors, varying heights and distances. Use of ladders and lifts required at times.
- Continuous standing required in varying degrees throughout the day.
- Driving - limited driving on an occasional basis for supplies, equipment, etc.

**Other**:

- Being passionate about people and service.
- Strong communication skills are essential when interacting with guests and employees.
- Reading and writing abilities are used often when completing paperwork, logging issues/complaints/requests/ information updates, etc.
- Basic math skills are used frequently when handling cash or credit.
- Problem-solving, reasoning, motivating, and training abilities are often used.
- Have the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and/or holidays
