Learning and Development Summer Student

**We are looking for**: a full-time, contract Learning and Development Student
**Hours of Work**: 34 hours/week. This is a hybrid work from home role. Monday to Thursday 8:30am to 4:30pm and Friday 8:30am to 3:30pm.
**Reports to**: Manager, Learning and Development

**Responsibilities**:

- Research content for e-learning and job aids
- Asset collection and formatting (images, videos) for courses
- Create job aids
- Review e-learning modules and provide feedback
- Manage Learning Management System (LMS) on Dayforce
- Test courses for functionality and quality
- Assist in writing e-learning outlines and lesson plans
- Monitor the L&D inbox and track course progress statuses
- Create training presentations for courses in PowerPoint to transfer to iSpring
- Co-facilitate training and PSW orientation sessions

Risk, Health and Safety Management
- Participating in health and safety processes and procedures
- Participating in maintaining a safe workplace environment by cultivating a positive safety culture and encouraging best practices to promote both staff and client safety and well-being
- Participating in all health and safety training initiatives on a regular basis
- Taking proactive action against client incidents within your scope of practice
- Protecting the wellbeing of staff by providing a safe and healthy working environment.
- Promoting a culture of safety by being responsible for encouraging blame-free reporting.
- Investigating adverse events by performing a root cause analysis and gathering all relevant information as it pertains to the event.

**Qualifications**:

- In progress or recent completion of a related diploma or degree program
- Knowledge of designing E-learning and lesson plans
- Training and coaching experience or relevant education
- Proficiency with Google Docs, OneDrive, and Microsoft Office (excel, word, PowerPoint)
- Excellent verbal, writing and grammar skills
- Strong problem solving skills
