The Shop Foreman in our Architectural Door Hardware department will provide direction to support the business. The Shop Foreman will lead, inspire, build and motivate while delivering on our higher purpose - **‘Enriching the lives of our partners’** and influence behaviour to create a safety culture of excellence.

As a member of the Architectural Door Hardware team and as a new Glass Canada family member, you will join a diverse, dynamic group of highly motivated individuals that bring with them a wide array of talents, skills, and backgrounds.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Lead, guide, and support the Architectural Metal Technicians in the fabrication of aluminum curtain wall, storefront and entrance framing as well as aluminum doors complete with finished hardware.
- Work hands on with the architectural window and door hardware team to meet project needs
- Prioritize and assign tasks, providing work orders to team members
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications of architectural aluminum metal components according to project requirements.
- Supervise the workflow and quality control of the department
- Set up and operate various metalworking machinery and tools, such as saws, routers, drills, and grinders.
- Perform precise cutting, shaping, and bending of metal materials to meet specifications.
- Supporting the management of inventory by prepping materials and job packages accurately for delivery to site
- Regularly inspect and maintain equipment and tools to ensure proper functionality.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED
- 5-10 years of experience as a lead hand in architectural metal fabrication, preferably in construction Glazing projects.
- A strong knack for leading and training others while problem-solving daily operations
- Extensive knowledge of various door hardware techniques
- Ability to empower, influence and work cohesively within a diverse team
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments and tools to ensure accurate fabrication.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and ability to follow all safety protocols.
