This role is vital in driving corporate fundraising efforts for both our annual operations and Capital Campaign at the Vancouver Art Gallery. In collaboration with Gallery Directors, this position is responsible for crafting and executing both short and long-term fundraising strategies tailored to the corporate sector.

The Head of Corporate Partnerships will actively engage with the community, building new relationships with industry leaders and potential corporate supporters. This role will help design and nurture these valuable partnerships, ensuring mutual success and growth.

**What You Will Do**

Corporate Fundraising and Sponsorships:

- Accountable for achieving annual and multi-year financial objectives related to both annual funding and multi-year capital projects (associated but not limited to the new Gallery).
- Actively identify new prospects for soliciting funds
- Determine specific purpose and level of partnerships that are mutually beneficial to the Gallery and to the Corporation
- Effectively represent the corporations’ goals and enhance appropriate collaborative relationships within the Gallery
- Maintain an effective program of stewardship of corporate partners
- In consultation with the Senior Director of Development, establish and maintain forecasts of annual goals for corporate sponsorships and partnerships
- Independently build relationships on behalf of the Gallery with corporate decision-makers primarily in Vancouver but also across British Columbia and the rest of Canada, with a particular focus on national corporations based in Toronto
- Maintain sponsorship proposals and contracts as well as regular reporting to funders
- Host tours through the Gallery for corporate partners and/or prospects
- Negotiate agreements for the provision of corporate support for the Gallery
- Maintain strong and fruitful relationships with sponsors and vendors

General:

- Oversee sponsorship duties such as recognition and thank you letters and ensure impact reports are executed
- Represent the Gallery with a high level of integrity and professionalism
- Participate in the development of team plans and initiatives; understand and champion organizational strategic and business goals, and recommend continuous improvement initiatives, innovative approaches and the associated policies and procedures to achieve those goals
- Communicate and coordinate with team members to ensure a seamless experience for corporate partners when interacting with the Gallery
- Model respectful and inclusive workplace behaviour through a commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion, including Indigenous ways of being, ensuring these principles are embedded in all the work we do

These duties and responsibilities outlined above are representative, but not all inclusive. This role contributes to the overall success of the Development team and ensures contribution to the Gallery’s strategic goals.

**What You Bring to the Role**

As the Head of Corporate Partnerships, you hold a bachelor's degree in a related field. You also bring 5+ years of experience working in development or equivalent corporate, marketing or sponsorship roles. Experience in the not-for-profit and/or arts sector is preferred.

In addition, you have:

- Ability to think innovatively and creatively in planning and developing a fresh approach to existing activities, with a continuous improvement perspective and incorporating best practices
- Ability to foster cross-departmental relationships
- Ability to effectively use Microsoft Office suite
- Must be entrepreneurial, results-oriented, prospect-focused, strategic and intuitive, and comfortable working independently and as part of a team
- Demonstrated ability to relate well to, and understand the needs and interests of corporations to develop relationships between them and the Gallery
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure of deadlines and dollar goals
- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated conflict resolution and problem-solving skills

**Compensation and Work Environment**

Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week (Must be flexible to attend after hours events)

**Salary**: $90,000 - $110,000 per year

This is an excluded (non-unionized), temporary full-time role, anticipated to continue until December 2026, or until return of the incumbent. The compensation package is commensurate with qualifications, experience, and ability. This is an in-office position at the Gallery’s downtown Vancouver location.
