The Saskatchewan Food Industry Development Centre (Food Centre) is seeking to hire a full-time permanent Program Manager & Business Advisor responsible for the Centre’s Women Entrepreneurship Strategy (WES) Program (AWESOME Program). AWESOME is designed to advance women entrepreneurs in the food processing sector through skill development, opportunity identification, manufacturing support and marketing initiatives. AWESOME members join our program to seek assistance as they initiate and grow their food businesses. In this program we will primarily work with women from rural, indigenous, U39 and newcomer communities from concept development through to product development and from initial product placement in local markets to increasing product sales in domestic and international market places. The initiative includes business skills training, mentoring, networking and business development coaching and one-on-one consulting. The Food Centre helps women entrepreneurs with their technical production needs. Our goal is to advance women entrepreneurs in the food industry, regardless of the stage they are in, from start-up to expansion.
The Program Manager & Business Advisor will be responsible to lead and drive the Program in the provinces of Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Northwest Territories, Ontario, Quebec, Saskatchewan and Yukon.
The Program Manager & Business Advisor will have the following skills and abilities:
- A strong knowledge of the skills needed, and the actions required, by business owners at all stages of their business development; from start-up to expansion.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
- An ability to work with national project partners.
- An ability to provide leadership and direction to a team, contracted service providers and project partners to meet specific outcome objectives.
- An ability to partner and collaborate with other agencies to achieve outcomes.
- A knowledge of how to use digital platforms to communicate and promote.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- An ability to travel (when and where appropriate) to meet with clients and/or with other organizations to advance the growth of individual women entrepreneurs and to enhance programs and services available to women food processing entrepreneurs.
- A self-starter, enthusiastic and energetic with an ability to set time sensitive goals and to achieve outcomes.

Le Centre de développement de l’industrie alimentaire de la Saskatchewan (Centre alimentaire) cherche à embaucher une gestionnaire de programme et conseillère commerciale permanente à plein temps responsable du programme de stratégie pour les femmes en entrepreneuriat (SFE) du Centre alimentaire (programme AWESOME). AWESOME est conçu pour faire progresser les femmes entrepreneures dans le secteur de la transformation des aliments grâce au développement des compétences, à l’identification des opportunités, au soutien à la fabrication et aux initiatives de commercialisation. Les membres du programme AWESOME peuvent demander de l’aide lorsqu’elles lancent et développent leurs entreprises alimentaires. Dans le contexte de ce programme, nous travaillerons principalement avec les femmes des communautés rurales, autochtones, tranches d’âge moins 39 ans et des communautés de nouveaux arrivants pour faciliter le développement de produits et du placement initial sur les marchés locaux et pour aussi faciliter l’augmentation des ventes de produits sur les marchés nationaux et internationaux. Le programme comprend aussi une formation aux compétences en affaires, du mentorat, de l’encadrement en matière de réseautage et de développement des affaires et des conseils individuels. Le Centre alimentaire aide les femmes entrepreneures à répondre à leurs besoins techniques de production. Notre objectif est de faire progresser les femmes entrepreneures dans l’industrie alimentaire, à chaque étape, du démarrage à l’expansion.
La gestionnaire de programme et conseillère commercial sera chargée de mener et de diriger le programme dans les provinces de l’Alberta, de la Colombie-Britannique, du Manitoba, des Territoires du Nord-Ouest, de l’Ontario, du Québec, de la Saskatchewan et du Yukon.
La gestionnaire de programme et conseillère commercial aura les compétences et aptitudes suivantes:
- Une très bonne connaissance des compétences nécessaires et des actions requises par les propriétaires d’entreprise à toutes les étapes du développement de leurs entreprises; du démarrage à l’expansion.
- Excellentes compétences en gestion de projet et en organisation.
- Une capacité à travailler avec des partenaires nationaux de projets.
- Une capacité à assurer le leadership et la direction d’une équipe, de fournisseurs de services sous contrat et de partenaires
