This is a full-time support staff Bargaining Unit position reporting to the Director, Innovation Institute working 35 hours per week at an hourly rate of $26.47.

The Educational Project Technician is responsible for e-learning content and technical development activities related to online projects within the Lambton e-Creators of the Innovation Institute. Within the role, the incumbent is primarily responsible for developing online e-learning content, developing technical materials, cultivating client and stakeholder relations, ensuring project compliance with eLearning standards and supporting the Educational Project Assistants. They require the ability to provide technical solutions and exceptional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders is essential, along with the ability to prioritize tasks, practice effective time management skills and exercise sound judgement.

**Specific Accountabilities**:

- Convert traditional classroom based content into web delivery with the support of the project team using rapid eLearning software tools (Articulate Storyline, Adobe Creative Cloud, and many other tools
- Provide support to the project team from the earliest stages of ideation, analysis, planning and development through to successful completion
- Design high quality, engaging and interactive learning modules from start to finish
- Interpret and modify existing classroom-based course content into web delivery
- Use Articulate Storyline and Adobe Creative Cloud to convert existing course material into web delivery
- Implement eLearning strategies to ensure quality standards are met
- Liaise with Subject Matter Experts, Instructional Designers, Editors, Peer Reviewers, and Program Coordinators to ensure project timelines are met
- Create visual elements to enhance learning and user experience
- Facilitate training as required for co-op students by the Technology Specialist
- Prioritize projects and break down project tasks to ensure timely completion
- Analyze and compare new and existing technologies and identify how to incorporate them into workflow
- Construct training materials and tutorials for use by team members
- Administer and modify courses in Brightspace LMS
- Evaluate and solve technical challenges within Articulate Storyline, Adobe Creative Suite, and other software
- Select and use HTML editing and javascript to enhance course functionality
- Use the Quality Matters rubric to construct QM certifiable courses
- Predict technical challenges and solve them proactively
- Research new technologies and processes to be evaluated by the Technology Specialist
- Model/demonstrate best practices and procedures for co-op students
- Interpret technical terms and concepts and paraphrase for other stakeholders
- Audio/video Media Production ie. filming, recording, editing with industry standard software
- Gamification and animation development using Aftereffects, Powtoons, and other leading industry software
- Produce and modify video and graphical elements using Adobe Creative Suite, Camtasia and other software
- Discover and experiment with new technology and processes to determine whether they may add value
- Estimate and report project task progress to Technology Specialist and Project Manager
- Review and revise existing projects including Storyline and LMS elements for quality assurance
- Review projects to ensure they are mobile-friendly
- Participate in strategic planning meetings
- Inform stakeholders of project statuses
- Develop templates and guides for project tasks
- Contribute to the development of training materials and best practices of the Design House
- Estimate time resources required for project task completion
- Assess and collect resources to aid in project development
- Escalate 2nd tier technology issues to Technology Specialist for analysis
- Provide customer service to internal and external stakeholders
- Prioritize tasks and exercise sound judgement and time management skills
- Other duties as assigned

**Qualifications**:

- 2 year Post-secondary Diploma in business administration or e-learning development
- Minimum of three (3) years of working experience as an e-learning developer
