**Job Overview**:
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Shop Hand to support our refrigeration and mechanical contracting team. The Shop Hand will assist with various tasks in the shop, warehouse, and occasionally on job sites, ensuring the smooth operation of daily activities. This is an entry-level position with opportunities for growth within our company.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Assist in receiving, organizing, and stocking materials and equipment.
- Assist with delivery or pickup of parts and equipment from suppliers and job sites.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in the shop and warehouse.
- Perform basic repairs and maintenance on shop equipment.
- Load and unload materials and tools for jobs as per technician or supervisor instructions.
- Follow safety protocols and ensure that all safety regulations are adhered to.
- Forklift operation: Safely operate forklifts to load, unload, and move materials around the shop and warehouse.
- Service and project material staging: Prepare and organize materials, tools, and equipment for ongoing service calls and projects.
- Prepare tools and materials for field supervisors, management field technicians as required.
- Shop tools and equipment coordination: Oversee the condition, availability, and maintenance of shop tools and equipment, ensuring everything is in good working order.
- Fleet coordination: Assist with the scheduling and maintenance of company vehicles to ensure readiness for field operations.
- Health and Safety PPE coordination: Ensure proper stock levels and distribution of personal protective equipment (PPE) for all team members.
- Shop inventory coordination: Conduct regular checks, organizing materials, and reporting relevant data to supervisors.
- Assist in assembling, fabricating, or modifying parts as needed for refrigeration and mechanical systems.
- Assist technicians and mechanics with basic tasks as required on-site.
- Other assigned duties.

**Qualifications**:

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Strong work ethic and a desire to learn the industry.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently when required.
- Physically capable of lifting and moving heavy materials (up to 50 lbs).
- Basic mechanical skills or a willingness to learn.
- Prior experience in a shop or construction environment is an asset, but not required.
- Prior experience in a fleet coordination or construction environment is an asset, but not required.

**Working Conditions**:

- Majority of work will take place in a shop environment.
- May be required to travel to job sites.
- Exposure to various temperatures and weather conditions in the shop, yard, and on job sites.
- Must adhere to safety protocols at all times.
