**Description**:
Under the general direction of the Director, Anti-Racism and Cultural Diversity Office (ARCDO), the Advisor, Anti-Racism & Cultural Diversity Office is responsible for providing support to the Anti-Racism and Cultural Diversity Office in the development, implementation and administration of the University’s Anti-Racism & Cultural Diversity tri-campus initiatives.

Key responsibilities include: development and delivery of on-going anti-discrimination and harassment educational programs and outreach initiatives focused on the promotion of Anti-Racism & Cultural Diversity on campus, including supporting the annual IDERD Campaign and other institutional EDI-related campaigns; working with student clubs, groups and other faculty & staff units on all three campuses in developing and implementing programming, educational and outreach initiatives related to anti-racism, equity and cultural diversity; acting as a resource and providing independent confidential case intake for students, faculty and unionized and non-unionized staff; providing advice to students, staff and faculty across the University with respect to available services, supports, options, relevant policies, and providing appropriate referrals; providing support and research assistance with Human Rights policy analysis and implementation.

The Advisor supports the development of the University’s anti-discrimination and harassment educational curriculum and works collaboratively with Divisional Equity Directors and EDI leads in the development and delivery of educational programming. The incumbent is a consultative resource on broader issues of equity, diversity & inclusion.

The Advisor briefs Director, ARCDO on emerging issues as they are identified, analyses and revises documents and policy drafts, researches and provides support on special institutional projects. Additionally, the incumbent identifies and implements opportunities for improvements and efficiencies in office procedures.

The incumbent works in a complex environment that requires a high degree of sensitivity, responsiveness and a need to maintain absolute confidentiality. The incumbent must present a professional image in the Anti-Racism and Cultural Diversity Office by interacting knowledgeably and courteously with many people including senior administrators, faculty, staff and students and community members who come into contact with the Office.

**Qualifications Required**:
**I. EDUCATION**:
Graduate degree in a relevant area of study, preferably with a focus on dispute resolution, human rights, diversity, equity and inclusion or acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience.

**II. EXPERIENCE**:
Minimum 4 years of related experience in developing and delivering programming with excellent understanding of anti-racism and cultural diversity frameworks; Demonstrated experience working with inter-cultural and inter-faith issues; Demonstrated experience in and understanding of complex issues related to equity and diversity as they relate to the student experience and the workplace strongly preferred; Experience in curriculum design and delivery, adult learning principles, group facilitation, assessment and evaluation techniques; Experience in developing antiracism and cultural diversity programming initiatives and case management; Demonstrated experience and competence in developing targeted training to diverse groups; Demonstrated experience in project management and advancing EDI projects within a post-secondary environment or similar complex organization; Demonstrated experience in research, developing public education materials, promotional materials; and/or community initiatives related to human rights education; Experience working with diverse student body Experience working within a post-secondary context is strongly preferred; Related marketing experience. A thorough understanding of the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act, Ontario Human Rights Code, AODA and relevant legislation/case law.
