We are seeking an experienced Registered Social Worker, Registered Psychotherapist, Registered Occupational Therapist, or a Registered Mental Health Nurse to join our mental health team. Our region offers the very best of summer and winter activity for those with a passion for the outdoors. We work in a professional and collegial environment, use an up-to-date electronic medical records system (EMR), and offer many opportunities for ongoing training and professional development. The Georgian Bay Family Health Team (GBFHT) provides a host of primary care services including Lung Health, Diabetes, Healthy Aging, Nutrition Counselling, Cardiovascular Rehabilitation and Ontario Telemedicine Network (OTN).

Our mental health team provides exceptional primary mental health care service to children, youth, and adult patients of the 52 area physicians who comprise our Family Health Organization. The successful applicant will ideally have experience and versatility in providing MH service to individuals across the lifespan.

Some of your key responsibilities will be to:

- Provide accessible counselling to individuals, couples and groups using evidence-based practices.
- Engage in a collaborative and integrated approach to the provision of mental health care that adheres to patient centered principles.
- Work in concert with family physicians, nurse practitioners, psychiatrists, and integrated health professionals to provide stabilizing support for patients.
- Collaborate with team members and other agencies/programs to provide group and educational programs in topics such as: anxiety, depression, relationships, grief, and loss.
- Engage fully and competently in the provision of brief phase-oriented counseling within a stepped care framework.
- Maintain records in a timely manner, in accordance with the requirements of your professional college.
- Manage a full and demanding caseload, with frequent competing priorities.

Education/Skills
- Master’s degree in counselling, occupational therapy, nursing, social work, or psychology.
- Current registration and a member in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers, College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario, College of Nurses of Ontario, Ontario College of Occupational Therapists, or College of Psychologists of Ontario.
- Minimum of 5 years counselling and/or psychotherapy experience
- Certification and/or training in, but not limited to: Brief therapy models, CBT, DBT, EFT, MBSR, and Trauma-informed therapies
- Proficiency with suicide risk assessment
- Able to work in an interdisciplinary team as well as independently, with confidence
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and networking skills required
- Excellent organizational and time management skills required
- Familiarity with EMR system an asset
