Associate Legal Counsel

**Position Summary**
The Associate Legal Counsel will assist with a variety of corporate and commercial matters, including drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts, addressing employment law related matters, managing regulatory compliance issues, and assisting the legal team. The position will report directly to Senior Counsels in the legal team and involves a broad and evolving scope of responsibility.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Advise on corporate, commercial, and labor and employment matters.
- Support the legal team on business-critical issues relating to commercial law, intellectual property, privacy and employment law.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contractual agreements, including service agreements, real estate agreements, and employment agreements.
- Regulatory compliance and risk management.
- Manage, organize, and maintain documents in paper or electronic filing systems.
- Update/create internal reports and training materials.
**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**:
- Law degree from an accredited Canadian law school.
- Member in good standing with a Canadian Law Society.
- Minimum 2~4 years of experience in general corporate law, employment law, and/or contracts in a law firm and/or in-house setting.
- Experience in logistics, distribution, and transportation is a plus, but not required.
**KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS**:
- Flexibility to effectively handle shifting priorities and adapt to changing demands in a fast
- paced, dynamic environment.
- Ability to learn laws and regulations of different provinces, countries, and jurisdictions.
- Ability to understand operational process and industry specific knowledge.
- Ability to travel on a regular basis (mainly U.S., Canada, and Mexico).
- Strong problem solving skills.
- Strong calendaring, organizational, and multitasking skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of the organization and demonstrate a team-oriented work style.
- Korean - English bilingual is a plus, but not required.
