**Job Description - Purchasing Assistant**

**Basic Job Description**

The Purchasing Assistant will work with the Supply Chain Manager to ensure all day-to-day inventory management aspects are completed which include but are not limited to ordering finished goods and parts from factory, managing stocking levels at each location, and working with other Operation managers to meet customer needs.

**Reports To**:Supply Chain Manager

**Responsibilities**:

- Purchasing_
- Maintain communication with vendors, customers, and internal managers to ensure that all materials and supplies are available as required.
- Process back orders based on incoming shipments.
- Process all required paperwork in a timely fashion and maintain up-to-date, accurate records for reporting and tracking.
- Balance job cards by reviewing production capacity for both KCI manufacture locations (ON & BC)
- Investigate inventory discrepancies by performing physical stock check and maintain accuracy of ERP system
- Maintain organized work area according to policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- Create purchase requisitions as required.
- Place and manage purchase orders to maintain stocking levels and fulfill orders.
- For finished goods and parts using the ERP.
- Create and execute standing orders for immediate requirements.
- Update supplier shipping dates and communicate changes to CSR team based on confirmations received.
- Review and process daily and weekly transfers.
- Perform other purchasing duties as required.

**Qualifications**:

- High school diploma, GED or equivalent
- Diploma in Supply Chain or related field
- Knowledge of MRP, inventory planning and production scheduling
- Previous experience as a Purchasing Assistant in a high-pressure environment preferred
- Experience in the manufacture industry preferred
- Ability to work with other departments to ensure their needs are met
- Strong customer service orientation
- Ability to understand complex instructions
- Strong organizational, time management and prioritization skills
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
- Ability to work efficiently as a part of a team, as well as independently
- Attention to detail in all areas of work
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude

**Working Conditions**:

- Fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- The majority of time is spent in an office environment
- Hours of work are Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Hours may fluctuate based on business volume and some overtime may be required from time to time.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: From $22.00 per hour
