General Labourer

Sylvite is a multinational, privately owned, business headquartered in Burlington Ontario providing critical products and services in the agricultural and transportation sectors.
- Agriculture - Sylvite provides a full supply chain solution for crop input products such as fertilizer, seed and pesticides.Transportation - The transportation group at Sylvite not only coordinates part of the agricultural supply chain, but also provides logistics services to a large customer base, transporting goods throughout Canada and the United States.

Function:

- Working directly in coordination with the Plant Supervisor
- Responsible for supporting the day to day operations of the plant functions, filling, stacking, bulk loading, production support and fork-truck operations
- Primary responsibilities shipping & receiving (of bulk & pallets of material), line manufacturer & movement / storage of finished products

Site Operations:

- Adhere to all health, safety and environmental regulations
- Maintain professionalism and a customer service attitude when dealing with external customers and internal associates
- Assist all other plant and site functions (railcars and vessels where applicable) of fertilizer, seed, chemicals or other products as required
- Assist bulk receiving & blending as directed
- Load & unload packaged products with a forklift onto or off trucks
- Move finished pallets & toted material away from the manufacturing area or the palletizer and into WH storage
- Perform routine clean up and maintenance of the site
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor
- Works efficiently on own or within a team environment

Secondary duties will be scheduled by the Plant Supervisor, which might include:

- Tote filling of general fertilizer & other products
- General Housekeeping including sweeping & shoveling
- Labelling bags
- Palletizer operation
- All PPE must be worn as required & prescribed
- All near miss, incidents, accidents & injuries must be reported to the Plant Supervisor immediately
- All jobs & duties will be outlined in the job process and training provided as required
- Any other duties will be prescribed by the Plant Supervisor

Education, Experience and / or Training Requirements:

- 1+ year fertilizer blending experience
- 1+ year loader experience
- Forklift certificate preferred
