**Duties**:
Plans, supervises, and leads a maintenance team in a Parks Canada Agency field unit.

Provides semi-skilled and general maintenance, repair, building, and installation services for the Parks Canada Agency.

EDUCATION:
Secondary school diploma OR an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:

- Recent and significant** experience performing various semi-skilled tasks such as: carpentry, plumbing, road and facility maintenance
- Recent and significant** experience in operating equipment such as marine vessels, riding lawn mowers, chainsaws, tractors, skid steers, and snow mobiles.
- Recent and significant** experience conducting and/or overseeing the operation and maintenance of potable water distribution systems and wastewater systems in accordance with provincial and federal regulations.
- Recent and significant** experience conducting and/or overseeing the operation and maintenance of marine dock systems including but not limited to installation, removal, maintenance, and adjustment of docks, dock ramps, and dock chains and anchors.
- Experience in the use of computers and computer programs (Word, Excel)
- Experience in providing leadership, supervision and direction to work crews, and reviewing work crew performance.

Recent and significant ** are defined as a minimum of two (2) years work experience, acquired outside of school, within the last five (5) years

- Successful completion of post-secondary school courses related to building or mechanical maintenance or small engine repair.

Degree equivalency

CERTIFICATIONS:

- Certification in Small Vessel Operator Proficiency (SVOP) and Marine Emergency Duties (MED) A3
- Certification in Chainsaw use
- Operation of Small Drinking Water Systems - “Trained Person” certification through the Walkerton Clean Water Centre

EXPERIENCE:

- Experience in the operation of marine vessels
- Experience in developing and/or managing two of the following: work plans, cost estimates, specifications, purchase orders and/or service acquisitions.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

- Willingness to wear a Parks Canada uniform when required;
- Willingness to work irregular hours, overtime, weekends and/or statutory holidays and provincial/territorial holidays, when required;
