**Position Summary**:
The Human Resource position will be responsible for a variety of functions in the areas of recruitment and selection, employee relations and HR administration. In addition, the incumbent will participate and support with updating human resources policies, programs and procedures.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Participate in developing, recommending, and implementing HR policies, standards and procedures
- Review HR best practices and appropriate legislation, such as Employment Standards Act of Ontario, and (“AODA”) Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act
- Responsible for overall recruitment strategy, from job postings to interviews
- Build talent pipelines through proactive recruitment
- Benefit and RRSP administration
- Provide employment letters when requested by employees
- Maintain onboarding paperwork and materials, coordinate and deliver onboarding to new hires
- Manage all leaves including maternity and disability while collaborating with payroll
- Responsible for offboarding including exit interviews
- Track time off for all employees
- Maintains organizational charts, and monthly HR reporting
- Support the annual performance management and salary review process
- Generate ad hoc reports for management
- Participate in company system implementations and process improvement projects
- Manage IT equipment including labelling and maintaining master list of employees and equipment
- Work with payroll to submit employee expenses

**Qualifications**:

- A college or university degree, preferably in business specializing in Human Resources, or equivalent
- 3+ years of experience in a Human Resources role
- Knowledge of employment legislation, employee relations and HR best practices
- Demonstrated negotiation skills in attracting and retaining top talent
- Flexible, results oriented and able to deliver to timelines and budgets
- Analytical mind and strategic thinker
- Exercises good judgment and knows how to assess risks
- Known ability in interpersonal relationships
- Sense of organization and priorities and ease of conducting multiple files at once
- Strong communication skills (oral and written)
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Able to be discreet and manage information confidentially

**Experience**:

- Human resources: 3 years (preferred)
- Knowledge of Unions an asset
