The Regina Open Door Society (RODS) is a non-profit organization that provides settlement and integration services to refugees and immigrants in Regina. RODS is committed to meeting newcomers' needs by offering programs and services that enable them to achieve their goals and participate fully in the larger community.
We are located in the City of Regina on Treaty 4 land, which is recognized as the traditional territory of the nêhiyawak/Cree, Nahkawē/Saulteaux, Anihšināpēk, Dakota, Lakota, Nakoda, and the homeland of the Métis Nation.
33.75 Hrs. per week (5 days per week Monday to Friday, 6.75 hours per day) The term for this position is February 15,2025 to March 31, 2026.
As a part of a Prairie-Region-wide project, The Temporary Foreign Worker Project supports Temporary Foreign Workers (TFWs). The project provides client-centred services to address the needs of TFWs in Saskatchewan. Services include delivering group information and orientation sessions and providing one-on-one information, support and referrals to meet the basic essential needs
**Position**Description**
As a part of Temporary Foreign Workers (TFWs) support team, this position provides client-centred services to address the needs of TFWs in Southern Saskatchewan. Duties include delivering group information and orientation sessions, as well as providing one
- on-one support and referrals to meet the basic essential needs of temporary workers.
**Desired**qualifications/education**
- Post-Secondary Degree and/or Diploma in Social Work, Human Services, and Social Sciences, Education or related fields is preferred.
- Previous experience working with newcomer populations, especially Temporary
- Foreign Workers, considered a strong asset.
- **Job**Description**:
- Identify and respond to the immediate needs of TFWs on a case-by-case basis by conducting an initial needs assessment and developing a customized action plan to support the client.
- Provide enhanced services for TFWs remotely by telephone, through a variety of digital platforms, and at key employer jobsites.
- Provide relevant, individualized referrals to clients and conduct timely follow-ups to assess if the client's needs have been met effectively.
- Deliver tailored plain-language information and orientation sessions on issues that affect TFWs, such as COVID-19 public health and safety guidance, in the clients' preferred language
- Facilitate interpretation and translation services to clients, service providers and employers
- Assist with the ongoing monitoring and evaluation of the program by maintaining accurate record keeping, administering client feedback surveys, and submitting regular reports on program activities and deliverables.
- Recommend service delivery improvements and assist with their implementation when necessary.
- Complete data entry and program reports
**Competencies**
- Knowledge of community programs, services, and government resources in considered a strong asset.
- Excellent workshop facilitation and presentation skills, time management and interpersonal skills
- Must be someone who has a positive attitude, is flexible, reliable, proactive,
- accountable, and takes initiative
- Must have strong organizational skills and possess the ability to perform duties independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluency in oral and written English is required. The ability to communicate in an additional language(s) is considered an asset, with a preference for Spanish, Tagalog and/or Punjabi.
- Computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Office programs is required
- Available to work flexible/irregular hours including evenings and weekends.
- Current valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle is a strong asset.
**Required Licenses and**Certificates**
- Valid Saskatchewan Class 5 license and a clean Drivers Abstract
- Clean Criminal Record Check (CRC) and vulnerable sector Check
- Access to a reliable Vehicle
**Working**Conditions**
Frequent travel within Saskatchewan required
Occasionally, this position works outside of office in rural communities to provide services to Temporary Foreign Workers
Hours of work are Monday to Friday from 8:15 AM to 4 PM. All position at RODS requires a clean criminal record check. The annual salary for this position is $42,379,85 ($24.15 per hour)
