This is technical and manual work involving physical effort and agility in the performance of mechanical tasks in Garage Services and performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled manual tasks in the maintenance and/or repair of Municipal equipment. The role performs or assists with a variety of servicing and maintenance tasks on the Municipality's vehicle and equipment fleet such as checking and changing oil and filters; greasing and lubricating vehicles; checking and replacing hoses and belts, changing tires, and replacing lights; shop maintenance, equipment repair, painting, sandblasting, welding, fabrication and various shop-related tasks; move and park vehicles and equipment; prepare and maintain work records; Performs janitorial and cleaning work in garage and yard area; and may be required to provide assistance to Mechanics in the performance of their duties.

This position works 76.5 hours bi-weekly at a rate of $31.13 per hour. Employees in the Central Services department shall normally work a schedule consisting of 8 days of work in a 14 day period. Each day of work shall be 9.5 hours for 7 of the 8 days with one 10 hour day hours exclusive of a one-half (1/2) hour lunch period.
