PZ Cussons has an exciting agenda of growing Brands and introducing leading locally developed NPD. We have an amazing opportunity for an experienced _Category Development Manager_ to join our business.
- An exciting opportunity currently exists for a passionate and commercially sound Category Development Manager to join the commercial team at PZ Cussons.
- The Category Manager will work collaboratively with our Sales and Marketing team to bring category strategy to life with key customers, across our local Homecare, Baby Food, and global Beauty/Personal Care portfolio.
- This dynamic, highly valued and rewarding role is responsible for market leading global brands.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide category analysis and recommendations across areas of promotion; distribution, pricing, product mix and profitability within the Business Planning Cycle
- Lead the customer range reviews across key customers with timely communication and involvement of all stakeholders
- Support brand and sales in the creation and post-launch assessment of NPD
- Support Sales teams in establishing strong partnerships with key customers via JBPs and range reviews that incorporate shopper, consumer and category insights and solutions
- Gap analysis and identification of strategic initiatives to unlock future growth
About you:
- The successful applicant will have strong analytical experience in:
- crafting simple stories, and actionable recommendation from complex data (strong in the use of Nielsen/Aztec software)
- analysing brand P&L’ s to make commercial sound recommendations
- Ideally you will be working in a similar Category Development role or as a Category Development Analyst (3+ years’ experience within FMCG is highly desirable)
- You will need to be comfortable in front of customers and senior leadership, with the ability to lead and influence internally and externally
- You will be a proactive, self-starter who is comfortable working autonomously as well as within and leading cross functional teams
