New employees must provide documentation/proof of full COVID-19 vaccination status, a 2-step TB screening, as well as proof of immunity to measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella (chickenpox) prior to their start date at St. Mary’s General Hospital. Staff will require clearance from Employee Health and Wellness before they are able to begin any position within SMGH.

**Position Summary**:
The Human Resources (HR) Administrator is accountable for ensuring staff have a positive employee experience with HR services from the time of hire to end of employment. This role is responsible for the administration of the St. Mary’s General Hospital (SMGH) supporting the new hire onboarding process, providing guidance to employees on inquires with assistance from the HR Consultant, employee pension and benefit plans enrollments, and completing general administrative duties related to HR programs. Specifically, these duties include but are not limited to the responsibility for processing timely accurate employee information, pension and benefit transactions, providing responsive customer service and guidance to employees and managers in regard to HR policies, procedures and programs. The HR Administrator will strive to achieve optimal client service while fostering a positive environment in support of St. Mary’s Mission, Vision, Values and strategic direction.

**Position Requirements**:

- Successful completion of a Post-secondary education in Human Resources certification combined with HR experience.
- Minimum of two (2) years recent experience related to Human Resources or Administration.
- Demonstrated ability in providing courteous, professional and timely customer service within a collaborative, multi-disciplinary stakeholder environment and ensuring the privacy and confidentiality of staff information.
- Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to prioritize workload, adapt to frequent interruptions and process changes, work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Possess a strong sense of personal and professional accountability, flexibility, and initiative to promote St. Mary’s vision to be the safest and most effective hospital in Canada.
- Successfully able to perform their function in accordance with prescribed standards that focuses on the priority of People Safety and the delivery of the highest standard of Quality Care.
- Demonstrate the physical and mental capabilities necessary for proper and efficient performance of the essential duties of the position.

**Preferred Requirements**:
Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation currently in progress or recognized. Recent Human Resources experience within a multi unionized environment.
