The Client Service Worker with Indigenous Focus (CSWIF) position provides a high level of culturally appropriate support for Indigenous clients accessing services at Rock Bay Landing (RBL). The CSWIF reports to the Coordinator of Rock Bay Landing and works closely with the Director of Indigenous Relations and Program Development to develop and implement a variety of cultural activities in the community and on site.

A narrow selection of the larger scope and responsibilities for this position are as follows:

- Help foster an environment of cultural safety and sensitivity.
- Utilize an Indigenous, holistic approach that focuses on the mind, emotion, body, and spirit to recognize strengths and areas for growth.
- Organize and book relevant workshops and events. Assist Indigenous clients by identifying strengths and barriers to stability and assisting them in setting goals.
- Support clients to prepare for success with securing and maintaining housing,
- Accompany clients to appointments, organized outings, and community cultural events.
- Facilitate support meetings for Indigenous clients as needed.
- Coordinate and collaborate with the Director of Indigenous Relations and Program Development to determine avenues for program and individual client growth.
- Help connect clients to their Indigenous culture, community, traditions, and ceremonies.
- Provide and follow-up on referrals for clients made to external programs (e.g., detox, treatment, and housing)
- Review the program’s policies and procedures with clients as needed.
- Develop effective working relationships and partnerships with co-workers, community members, and representatives of other departments and agencies.
- Participate as a team member with other staff at Rock Bay Landing, attending meetings, keeping abreast of emerging issues, working well with staff, and clients, and sharing knowledge and information.

**Qualifications**
- A degree or diploma in a related human or social services field.
- Two years of direct service experience working in a program with Indigenous peoples/communities or working with diverse populations experiencing marginalization, client centered goal planning, client programming, and linking individuals to appropriate resources with a harm reduction lens.

**Requirements**:

- Emergency First Aid with CPR Level C.
- Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General Criminal Record Check.
- Valid class 5 driver’s license and clean driving abstract.

**Job Information**
- **Hourly Wage Rate** $24.48 to $28.52.
- **Work Locations **535 Ellice Street - Rock Bay Landing.
- ** Work Days **Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
- ** Shift Time **9:00 am - 7:00 pm.
- ** Total Weekly Hours** 40.
