Site Safety/administrator

Traine Construction and Development (Traine) is currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Site Safety/Administrator to join our exciting organization As a key member of our team, you will report directly to the Site Superintendent, performing a wide variety of complex administrative and accounting functions in support of the construction project. This position leads and embraces a safety-first mindset and promotes site-wide safety with the support of the team.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Lead and perform site orientation of new employees and sub trades with the support of the site superintendents.
- Supervise, coordinate, and document all on site safety activities, incidents, accidents, and first aid reports using Procore.
- Set up and lead monthly Project Health Safety Committee (JHSC) meetings, record minutes & distribute to stakeholders.
- Enforce WorkSafe BC safety codes, regulations, and Traine safety policies.
- Conduct and document incident, accident, and first aid reports.
- Coordinate and facilitate regularly occurring safety meetings.
- Daily and weekly site inspections. Document issues and follow up corrective actions.
- Liaise with Corporate Health and Safety manager and support their efforts at a site level
- Act as first point of contact at the construction site for staff, contractors, and inspectors
- Maintain the office filing system (electronic and hard copy), site office supplies, phone, and office equipment services in conjunction with head office.
- Assist Project Coordinator with monthly job progress, profit reporting, issuing purchase orders, and tracking purchases.
- Manage all site documents including inspection records.
**Qualifications and Experience**
- Grade 12 or GED required
- Certificate or Diploma in Office Administration preferred
- Level 2 or level 3 First Aid Certificate
- CSO/NCSO Certification considered a strong asset
- Gold Seal Certification considered a strong asset
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Procore
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Project and Procore an asset
- Able to clearly communicate; written and verbal
- Attention to detail and a safety-first mind set
- Driver’s license and transportation to site
- Ability to remain calm and poised in urgent situations
- PPE: Steel toe boots
You must be able to work on active fast-paced construction sites with daily walkthroughs and perform safety set ups and take downs. Prior experience in this type of work environment is preferred. Work will be indoors and outdoors throughout the year. Overtime and weekends may be required.
