**Job Description: Server**

**DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS**:

- Ensure a highly accurate delivery of Sooke Harbour House hospitality.
- Uphold the Sooke Harbour House’s ethos of excellence and professionalism.
- Servers must set the room to precise Sooke Harbour House standards before and after each service.
- Take 100% accurate food and drink orders. No exceptions. Quality checking every guest after food is delivered.
- Using the P.O.S. system.
- Servers must employ precise and relevant mis-en-place for every course.
- Proper table maintenance, clearing and cleanliness is to be observed.
- Servers must reset each table between guests observing exact standards.
- Diligently and promptly serve an extensive menu including beverages and alcoholic beverages, adhering to Serving It Right and Sooke Harbour House service standards.
- Foster friendly and professional interactions with guests, offering knowledgeable recommendations and facilitating accurate order placements.
- Maintain the service area's cleanliness and organization. Stocking supplies, cleaning glassware, polishing cutlery and remaining organized.
- Pre-shift attendance is mandatory.
- Arrive ready to work.
- Execute precise payment processing and handle cash transactions with accuracy.
- Collaborate seamlessly with B.O.H and F.O.H to ensure prompt and efficient service.
- Uphold and observe all Federal, Provincial and Municipal legislation and regulations for guests with regards to healthy and safe consumption of alcoholic beverages.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Support of Front Desk Agents and Host/Hostesses in acknowledgment and proper placement of walk in and reserved guests.
- Knowledge and expertise in customer service.
- Delivery of menu options with flair and personality.
- Training of new floor staff as needed.
- Upsell beverages, promote any special offerings and enhance customer service.
- Other duties as assigned

**Qualifications**
- Be fluent in English
- Demonstrate good interpersonal skills when dealing with customers, staff & management.
- Strong customer service skills and ability to provide refined and elegant hospitality.
- Highly organized and able to multitask effectively and work under changing priorities.
- Problem solving skills to address customer issues and challenges that may arise.
- Creating a positive environment for both the customer and staff.
- Be aware of and promote Sooke Harbour House safety standards to ensure both employees and guests are safe and always well cared for.
- Create and maintain a safe, fair, and harassment free environment for all employees.
- Use Serving It Right to adhere to government guidelines and B.C Laws in all elements of service.
- Physically demanding tasks in a fast-paced environment that can include repetitive tasks.
- Will be required to spend long periods of time standing, walking and carrying plates, glasses, trays and utensils.
- Must be able to push/pull up to 100 lbs. and lift/carry up to 20 lbs.
