Reporting to Director, Human Resources, the Manager will lead a team of human resources and payroll professionals, and will roll up their sleeves to actively support the work required to help enable the achievement of the CRNA’s strategic goals.
The Manager, Human Resources will embrace the CRNA’s culture and have the unique opportunity to co-lead and provide support in the planning, organizing, implementing and evaluating people-oriented strategies, initiatives, policies and programs.
**Your Primary Responsibilities**
- Coordinate and enact programs related to the employee experience, performance management, professional development, talent acquisition, employee relations, total compensation/rewards, position classification, position evaluation, pension administration, enterprise risk, workforce planning, human resource policies and procedures, and payroll administration and reporting.
- Support the embedding of the CRNA’s strategic direction, mission and values.
- Assist in the the development, execution and monitoring of effective human resources systems, processes and standards in accordance with business strategies, with a strong employee service focus.
- In collaboration with the Director, participate in business planning with a focus on organizational structure, recruitment, engagement and retention strategies.
- Demonstrate a hands-on approach in addressing immediate HR needs, fostering a proactive and responsive work environment.
- Identify employee-related risks and recommend and manage mitigation strategies.
- Anticipate and address employee relations issues to facilitate resolutions and to minimize exposure to legal action.
- Lead and implement day-to-day human resources activities.
- Foster a professional partnership with leadership.
- Provide counselling and advice in the areas of employee relations, performance management, employee complaint resolution processes, and contract interpretation using current employment practices and established procedures.
- Support the facilitation of leader coaching, sharing best practices that are aligned with the CRNA’s policies and procedures and business strategy.
- Actively manage the administration, maintenance and enhancement of compensation systems, position classification, position evaluation, group insurance benefits, pension administration and wellness initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with employment and pension legislation and regulation.
**What You Posses**
- Post-secondary education in human resources, business administration, or related field.
- Certified Professional Human Resources (CPHR) designation.
- Minimum **7-9** years progressive human resource management experience.
- Knowledge and experience of pension plan administration is required.
- Experience within not-for-profit or public sectors is an asset.
- A proven track record in leading HR strategies, projects and initiatives.
- In-depth understanding of the best practices of the continually evolving human resources landscape, including relevant employment legislation and common law outcomes.
- Excellent communication skills (including facilitation and presentation) to express ideas, engage various stakeholders and influence action. An active listener who possesses a clear and concise writing style.
- Ability to collaborate and lead change and manage multiple and competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
- A successful track record leading, mentoring and coaching a team.
- Willingness to address issues directly to constructively resolve conflict and build trust.
- Proven ability to exercise independent judgement and decision making in a work environment requiring teamwork and organizational sensitivity.
