**Home Expressions Sales Associate**

**The Home Expressions Department Sales Associate is responsible specifically for the Home Expressions/Home Décor department, and reports directly to the Retail Operations Manager.**

**DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Ensure customers are greeted within 30 seconds of entering the store or the Home Expressions Department
- Assist customers in a friendly, courteous manner
- Ensure that all product signs, sale signs and pricing is correct, and up during the relative dates
- Always check the incoming merchandise against the invoices you receive from direct ship vendors for correct pricing levels, breakages, over shipments or incorrect products received.
- Perform regular cycle counts
- Re-merchandise the Home Expressions Department on a regular basis
- Create Sales Summary Reports and track the Home Expressions Department sales
- Check the inventory on a daily basis
- Attend Gift Shows and purchase seasonal and trendy home décor and giftware items.
- Keep the Home Expressions overstock neat, clean, and organized
- Initiate, organize and lead in-store demonstrations featuring new items
- Manage multiple tasks and multiple vendors
- Review the new Home Expressions items available in the Distribution Centre in Connect on a weekly basis
- Place all orders in a timely manner
- Create in store promotions to drive customer traffic

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Ability to work independently
- Ability to work cooperatively in a team atmosphere
- Must be available to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings and holidays
- Must have excellent communication skills
- Must have excellent customer service skills
- High school graduation or equivalent
- 2 or more years of prior retail experience beneficial
- Computer skills are an asset
- Must have a good understanding of and adhere to Home Hardware’s policies and procedures
- Must be able to create, organize, initiate and complete displays for merchandise in a timely manner.

- Secondary School (preferred)

- retail: 2 years (preferred)
