**JOB DESCRIPTION**:HR Manager

**REPORTING TO**:Chief People & Culture Officer & Site Leader

***:The HR Manager is accountable for the management of all aspects of Human Resources within the location(s) including but not limited to recruitment, compensation, benefits, pension, employee relations, health and safety, performance management, training, and development strategies for CGL Manufacturing. The HR Manager plays a key collaborative role in the development of goals, aligned with corporate strategy, and are responsible for a broad range of initiatives that attract, develop, and retain employees. Working collaboratively with the leadership team and employees they will drive continuous improvements of HR programs and services promoting compliance with company policy and legislation in a manner that drives company engagement. The HR Manager is key in helping build our relational culture at CGL. They will develop solid working relationships with managers and employees to build an environment that fosters communication, innovation, compassion, empowerment, and equity.

**PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- As part of the site leadership team, you will lead the local HR function and support the site
- Participate in the company HR team in the development of programs and execute them effectively at the local site
- Solid understanding of the business metrics and people related levers with the ability to act on them as required
- Manage the day-to-day functions of Human Resources which may include leading the work of others.
- Take a proactive and relational approach in the management, design, and implement programs in the areas of:

- Maintain and report on HR metrics to drive value and change as required
- Develop and execute quarterly goals in alignment with corporate objectives and local leadership
- Evaluate total rewards offerings for internal communication and to ensure competitiveness with the market
- Actively drive to successful outcomes working with managers and supervisors on employee performance, disciplinary issues, and policy interpretation
- Determine and recommend employee relation practices necessary to establish a positive employer/employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale.
- A welcoming point person for HR related issues, kindly encouraging self-service wherever possible
- While utilizing the centralized recruitment team, maintain local responsibility for openings and report out to the local hiring manager regularly.
- Collaboratively work with local leadership team on decisions regarding all talent movement, including promotions, voluntary or involuntary job changes, new or replacement hires, exception tracking, and compensation changes
- Responsible for the leadership in all WSIB claims, non-occupational illness, RTW and accommodations
- Actively participate in the JHSC providing oversight and management in collaboration with the operations manager and supervisors
- Prepare documentation and provide guidance to managers for things like layoffs and terminations and remain a point of contact for inactive/terminated employees.
- Conduct exit interviews to collect research on trends and issues; share information with management as needed
- Live, lead and promote the organizational culture and core values.
