Bird Heavy Civil is recruiting a “Accounts Payable Clerk” to work at our St. John’s office. If you are an experienced and qualified individual, seize this opportunity to work on projects that matter to you and to the communities in which we work.

Qualification:

- Minimum of 3 years work experience.
- A degree / diploma in Business Administration, Office Administration or equivalent with a specialization in accounting from a recognized post-secondary institution.
- Strong knowledge and practical use of Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel.
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and detail oriented.
- Knowledge of standard Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) requirements and practices in the construction industry.

**Duties**:
The duties associated with this position may include but are not limited to:

- Receive and verify invoices and requisitions of goods and services.
- Maintain and update all vendor files.
- Verify transactions comply with financial policies and procedures.
- Prepare batches of invoices for data entry and process for payment.
- Process backup reports after data entry.
- Manage weekly cheque run and record accordingly.
- Prepare manual cheques as required and record accordingly.
- Prepare expense and review expense reports.
- Provide administrative support and clerical services to ensure the office is operating efficiently and effectively.
- Promote companies Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) and Quality Management program.
- Other duties as required.
