**The Opportunity**:
**The Manager of Digital Learning (DL) supports the strategic priorities of the College. In particular, those which refer to digital learning tools and is responsible for ensuring that the enterprise-wide Learning Management System (LMS), such as Brightspace by D2L, and other learning technologies within the department’s scope are maintained, optimized and well-aligned to the organization’s digital learning vision.
In collaboration with other senior academic leaders, the Manager supports the planning, development and ongoing review of digital learning tools, quality of content and consult with other teams in order to implement the best learning practices.
**Key Responsibilities**:
Manage all aspects of the LMS to provide expertise and ensure consistency in learning design and methodology.
Oversee the timely and accurate handling of support tickets from stakeholders including weekly review on outstanding ticket status and trends.Collaborate with functional training partners throughout the organization to ensure in-depth understanding of business needs for the system and that the LMS is aligned with these needs.Develop and measure the effectiveness and impact of the LMS by designing key metrics to maximize achievement.Leverage Brightspace and other vendor tools to enhance student education, instructional staff delivery capabilities and curriculum development efforts.Act as an eLearning advocate and keep abreast of advancements in learning principles and theories in relation to technology-based teaching (synchronous and asynchronous) by conducting preview sessions and presentations to encourage the adoption of new and emerging technologies and developments in industry and at other educational institutions, into the classroom for effective and sustainable digital learning practices at the College.Coach, provide feedback, and performance analysis for and with direct reports.Provide timely reports to the VP, Academic on team health and productivity.Ensure Digital Learning team in working collaboratively and in sync with the broader Academic Services team to ensure success.Critically assess the strengths and weaknesses of available technologies and software by piloting, evaluating, and recommending academic technologies for purchase by the College.Collaborate with Information Technology Services to implement technologies tools.Manage vendors to ensure integration of training content.Manage the consultation regarding LMS configuration for curriculum, enrolment, scheduling, and logistics practices.

**Knowledge and Skill Requirements**:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent post-secondary education.
Understanding of project management concepts is required.A minimum of 5 years of management experience in a comparable educational environment.Minimum of 3 years of demonstrated experience with learning technology tools.Instructional design experience considered an asset.Understanding adult learning principles is an asset.Extensive knowledge and skills in MS Office.
