**Your role**

Meraki Resources is currently seeking a Communications Specialist for a one-year term to provide the expertise and guidance necessary to position us to effectively deliver on our communications goals. The Communications Specialist will have the unique opportunity to assist with establishing our communications functions to support our Corporate and Company goals and acting as a key partner to our leaders across the organization.

**Your areas of focus include**

Internal Communications
- Guides the creation and delivery of a best-in-class internal communications function across the organization that fuels employee engagement, influences connectivity and culture, positively impacting all companies.
- Develops communication materials using a variety of tactics to articulate key messages.
- Ensures communication messaging and materials are high quality, accurate, appropriate and integrated with company operations and strategic plans.
- Uses internal tools as appropriate to maximize internal communication effectiveness and ensures consistent messaging, branding, imagery and identity.
- Assists in writing and editing impactful and engaging content that effectively describes and promotes Meraki’s Employer Value Proposition, First Nations Strategy, Reconciliation Action Plan and other programs and initiatives in support of the organization’s goals and culture.
- Works with company administrators to create and maintain content for employee communication channels and explores/recommends new channels or technologies where possible.
- Implements metrics reports to measure effectiveness of internal communication channels and measures internal communications with the goal of continuously improving internal communications strategy to reach and engage employees.

Social Media Management
- Creates a social media strategy to attract employees and communicate with customers and the industry.
- Establishes post schedules, profile and promotional branding, and promotional activities that could enhance employer branding, community presence and market understanding of our capabilities.
- Oversee all social media accounts and partner with social media administrators and company General Managers to plan, develop and distribute social media content.
- Responsible for creating a presence for the Company, developing and maintaining posting schedules, monitoring accounts and assisting with responding to online engagement accordingly.
- Develop and deliver training and support to company social media administrators and leadership.
- Implement metrics reports to measure effectiveness of the social media strategy.

External Communications, Public Relations & Marketing
- Develop, research and write stories, scripts, and key messages for communication materials in all media formats - print, web, social media, videos and presentations.
- Interview employees, leadership, community partners and customers to research, develop, write, edits and publish engaging stories for web, print, video, social and other formats.
- Develop toolkit to for use by team members when exhibiting at various tradeshows and conferences that guides them through the preparation and provides key branding material s for use at events.
- Manage website content updates including new blog posts and website content redesign.
- Create, execute promotional campaigns to increase employee engagement, employer presence, community relations or industry position.
- Provide advice to General Managers and Senior Leadership to develop innovative public relations, advertising, and events.
- Provide advice and guidance on practices for customer relations management and participate in development of event calendar to increase Meraki’s presence in BC and communities.
- Identify and coordinate senior leadership participation in speaking opportunities and industry engagement events.
- As required, partner with external marketing and creative agencies toward the achievement of specific campaign deliverables.
- Draft and distribute press releases as required.
- Assist with coordination and communication of Company Corporate Giving Program.

Branding
- Contribute to building brand awareness and positioning internally and externally.
- Maintain and ensure brand guidelines are applied consistently across the organization.
