The Asset Management Specialist is responsible for the development, implementation, and continuous enhancement of the organization’s asset management framework, ensuring alignment with ISO 55000 standards. This role involves leading cross-functional teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and ensuring the asset management system effectively supports long-term value creation and risk mitigation.

The Asset Management Specialist will provide specialized engineering and technical support services, including conducting root cause investigations, performing Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and managing the Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action System (FRACAS). In addition, this position will be responsible for proposing data-driven solutions using Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, and Safety (RAMS) methodologies to enhance operational performance and asset reliability.

The Asset Management Specialist will be reporting to the Engineering Services Manager for TransitNEXT - working on the Trillium Line and based out of Ottawa. In addition, there is a supported relationship from the Manager of Asset Management working out of ProtransBC in Richmond, BC. The Asset Management Specialist will work closely with the Maintenance Managers, Supervisors, Technicians, and other internal stakeholders in supporting the Center of Excellence initiative and to provide a safe and reliable rapid transit system to passengers with a focused support for TransitNEXT in Ottawa.

**Your role within the team**:

- Lead the development and implementation of an ISO 55000-compliant Asset Management System, including gap analyses, readiness assessments, and certification processes.
- Develop policies, procedures, and documentation required for ISO 55000 certification.
- Manage the certification process, including liaison with external auditors and certification bodies.
- Monitor asset performance, lifecycle costs, and risk, promoting continuous improvement and value optimization.
- Deliver on strategic asset management program transformation projects for external and internal clients.
- Lead or contribute to project delivery, including discovery workshops, stakeholder engagement, and relationship management.
- Support practice and business development activities, participate in bid development and drafting.
- Support the development and implementation of requirements for asset management support tools (CMMS, EAMS, etc)
- Deliver measurable outcomes by maximizing the value of stakeholder networks within and outside AtkinsRéalis.
- Foster a greater understanding of asset lifecycle requirements and activities required to address asset management objectives in client organizations.
- Develop and implement reliability strategies to optimize asset lifecycle costs and performance.
- Oversee RAMS system planning and execution to ensure safe, reliable, and sustainable operations.
- Conduct root cause analyses, FMEA, and FRACAS to resolve complex engineering issues and recommend improvements.
- Lead incident investigations and coordinate with third-party specialists as needed.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve technical and project-related challenges.
- Prepare technical specifications, manage external contractors, and support contract administration.
- Compile system data and reports to meet regulatory, contractual, and internal requirements.

Safety Aspects

This role has significant oversight associated with scheduling and planning safe work. The incumbent is expected to follow Company Policy relative to all matters pertaining to the safety and ensure that Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) are established, deployed, and followed prior to executing any tasks or work. Safety Leadership is expected in this role.

Environmental Aspects

This role has oversight over development and monitoring of the environmental aspects of an asset management system including specification of environmental measures for asset management decision making. Leadership in sustainability and environmental stewardship is expected in this role.
