**Opportunity Snapshot**

As an AP & Payroll Specialist at Pixieset, you will be responsible for a wide range of accounting activities. From managing accounts payable to processing payroll, you'll be the go-to person for ensuring timely payments and accurate record-keeping. You'll also have the opportunity to showcase your analytical skills by performing bank reconciliations, creating accounting journal entries, and maintaining detailed working papers.

**Your Impact**

Accounts Payable:

- Manage the accounts payable inbox and process incoming vendor invoices
- Liaise with vendors to resolve questions / inquiries and communicate payment expectations as needed
- Support the invoice approval process by coordinating with various departments and leadership to ensure invoices are properly approved
- Code invoices and credit card expenses to correct departments and GL accounts in a timely and accurate manner
- Perform monthly credit card reconciliations and ensure all proper documentation is obtained and filed within the accounting system
- Create and maintain accurate vendor records
- Prepare bi-weekly payment runs and initiate payment with different payment methods
- Accrue for unapproved and late invoices at month-end

Payroll:

- Process bi-weekly payroll including wages for full-time and part-time employees, paid time off, taxable benefits, and reimbursements
- Calculate and file EHT and WCB
- Reconcile year-end T4

Other Duties:

- Reconcile and prepare sales tax filings for multiple tax jurisdictions
- Assist with external annual audits and tax audits where applicable
- Support Finance team members with month-end duties (bank reconciliations, working papers, etc.) and other ad-hoc projects
- Create SOPs and implement process improvements

**Role** **Requirements**
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 2+ years of experience processing accounts payable
- Exposure to or an interest in processing payroll
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial statements
- Intermediate Excel skills (ability to create pivot tables, write formulas, perform v-lookup, x-lookup, etc.)
- Experience with accounting software (Netsuite is an asset)
- Experience implementing an expense system is an asset
- Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Excellent attention to detail, ability to multitask and work in a dynamic environment
