**GENERAL PURPOSE**:
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Collaborate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and determine selection criteria
- Seek out opportunities for diversity and inclusion
- Organize and participate in recruitment events
- Perform interview and selection procedures
- Develop or update job descriptions and interview questions to reflect positional requirements
- Work with marketing team to establish employer branding for recruitment initiatives
- Prepare employment offers and manage pre-employment testing and onboarding process
- Ensuring all pre-employment and onboarding requirements are completed in timely manner
- Monitor and report on recruitment metrics
- Proven work experience as a Talent Acquisition Specialist or similar role
- Strong background in developing and executing talent attraction strategies
- A creative problem solver with ability to be flexible with changing needs
- Familiarity with social media, resume databases and professional networks
- Hands-on experience with full-cycle recruiting
- Ability to work efficiently with various systems including Microsoft Office, LMS, Applicant Tracking, HRMS, etc.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to learn differences between various roles within the organization
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with purpose and urgency
- Approachable, open, and visible
- A relationship builder who creates positive energy
- Demonstrates intuitive judgment
- Travel as required for recruitment initiatives
- Registered Professional Recruiter (RPR) is required
- Post secondary education in human resources or other relevant discipline is preferred
- Minimum of 2-4 years of experience as a Talent Acquisition or Recruitment Specialist
- Experience in unionized environment is an asset
