Job Summary

Reporting to the department supervisor, the Material Handlers operate powered industrial trucks to load and unload materials and deliveries and move them to and from storage areas, machines and loading docks as per production requirement.

**Responsibilities**:

- High degree of attention required to prevent injury to others; promote a safe work environment
- Communicate with department supervisors and lead hands to determine needs and schedule for the day.
- Obtains copy of production schedule and transports material or equipment to and from designated areas in the facility
- Loading and unloading goods from various areas of the plant
- Moving goods packed on pallets or in crates around the facility
- Stacking goods in the correct storage bays, following inventory control instructions
- Checking loads are secure and stacking empty pallets
- Performing daily equipment checks
- Removing machine attachments and waste material from machines
- Examining products to verify conformance to quality standards prior to taking it to the line
- Follow instructions for operating equipment and keeping records
- Execute assignments in an accurate, timely and safe manner
- Maintain a clean and safe environment
- Regularly sitting on a powered industrial truck
- Ability to carry all coils and load onto various pieces of coil handling equipment and coil mandrels
- Read, locate, and organize all coils to their designated areas
- Prepare daily coil requirements for all production lines
- Maintain a productive flow on all rolling lines maximizing rolling up time and reducing downtime
- Organize al WIP materials for next process
- Remove/ dump all scrap containers in their respective bins
- Understand and calculate weights, measures and capacities for material and handling equipment

**Qualifications**:

- Valid Forklift license required
- Good sense of balance
- Strong eye-hand-foot coordination
- Ability to assess weights and judge distances and heights
- Ability to work in varying temperatures, depending upon season
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time; ability to bend and to lift heavy materials
- Attention to detail and conscientiousness
- Good math, language and reading skills; basic computer skills may be required
- Very good physical condition and strength. Frequently lift to 50 pounds and adjust body position to bend, stoop, stand, walk, turn, pivot, and stand for long periods of time

Scope
- Rotating Day & Afternoon Shift on a bi-weekly basis
- Full time 40 hours per week Monday-Friday
- Overtime as required or offered

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $24.17-$25.34 per hour
