**Position Summary**

The shipping and receiving position verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment: Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

- Determine method of shipment and arrange shipping for national and international shipments by prepare bills of lading, customs forms, invoices and other shipping documents manually or by computer
- Move materials about the production floor for storage, use in production, shipping or to keep the warehouse tidy and organized.
- Assemble skids for shipping, using wrap, ties, and straps as required.
- Load and unload trucks using lift truck and/or pump truck
- Assemble containers and crates, record contents manually or by computer, pack goods to be shipped and affix identifying information and shipping instructions
- Inspect and verify incoming goods against invoices or other documents, record shortages and reject damaged goods
- Unpack, code and route goods to appropriate storage areas
- Maintain computerized record-keeping systems
- Operate forklift, hand truck and Reach truck, transport and store goods. -Conduct morning safety checks on lift truck and pump truck
- Other Duties as may be assigned

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:

- 2 years of shipping and receiving experience,
- Extensive knowledge of major couriers - FedEx, Purolator, UPS, etc. including how to operate their respective software packages,
- Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems, and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.) is a must,
- High attention to detail essential with ability to work independently with mínimal supervision in a busy environment,
- High attention to internal and external customer needs,
- Experience with preparing international shipments including customs documents is an asset, -Must have a valid forklift license,
- Ability to operate Forklift and Pump Trucks safely and efficiently,
- Physically capable of performing the essential duties of the job and lifting up to 50lb
- Good written and oral communication skills,
- High attention to company’s health & safety rules,
- Ability to multitask and assist the production team when required.
- Must be able to communicate with various chain of command and departments -Must be have good computer skills
- Must wear PPE ( eye protection, steel toed shoes)

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift

**Experience**:

- Shipping and receiving: 2 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Forklift Licence (preferred)
