Experienced 3 Ton Truck Delivery Driver

***FULL-TIME TEMPORARY 6 MONTH CONTRACT POSITION***

**Full - Time Temporary 6 MONTH CONTRACT with possibility of extension**

**Terminal location: Pontypool, ON**
**Start time: 630AM to 2:30PM**
**Working days: Monday to Friday**
**No Weekends or Holidays**

**This role is covering an employee on sick leave**

**What you will do**:

- _ **Drive a 3 ton commercial truck to deliver and or pick up freights to assigned stops within Courtice/Oshawa areas**_
- Deliver freights in good condition and within scheduled time **_(35-45 deliveries/day)_**:

- Use a handheld device to scan documents and freights
- Load and Unload freight in proper sequence with the use of a dolley and or pallet truck_ _ **Lift and or carry freight (hand bomb) up to 60lbs.**_
- Complete any necessary paperwork accurately
- Perform all safety checks, including pre-trip and post-trip inspection
- Report on all safety hazards and accidents
- Use a cellular phone to communicate with Dispatch, Lead Hand and Manager ie. Truck breakdowns, delivery concerns, answer calls, texts etc.
- Provide excellent customer service
- Build strong client relationships
- Adhere to safety and compliance regulations
- Additional duties as required

**What you will get**:

- Paid bi-weekly through payroll deposit
- $20/hour to $22/hour with experience
- Home daily; No long haul or US deliveries

**What we require of you**:

- High School Diploma
- _Valid G License is a must _
- Valid GZ or DZ License is an asset
- Possess a Clean CVOR and Personal Driver’s Abstract
- Courier or LTL experience is an asset
- **_Minimum 2 year COMMERCIAL TRUCK DELIVERY DRIVING experience_**:

- **_This shift will be Monday to Friday from 630AM to 230PM_**:

- **_Lift freight up to 60 lbs. and load in proper sequence of delivery with the use of a dolley and or a pallet truck_**:

- Excellent communication and problem solving skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy in paperwork
- Customer Focus - experience providing quality customer service
- Adaptable to change
- Experience working in a fast paced environment
- Experience working independently and with mínimal supervision
- Ability to work on a team and being a team player
- Must be comfortable with using onboard or handheld computer devices
- Must have a safety and compliance mind set

- Day shift

**Experience**:

- 3 Ton Truck Delivery Driving: 2 years (required)
- high volume deliveries ie. 35+/day: 1 year (required)
- load and unload freight from a TRUCK: 1 year (required)
- lifting and carrying freight to and from a TRUCK: 1 year (required)

Licence/Certification:

- Class G Licence (required)
