Hartrans Cartage Services is a local, Peterborough based trucking company. We offer LTL cartage services as well as TL and dedicated courier and flatbed services to other carriers and local shippers. With a reputation for quality customer service and on-time delivery, we are proud of our team of dedicated professionals.

Hartrans is currently looking for part-time driver-helpers/drivers. This is casual, part-time work to assist with seasonal volume increases and/or regular driver absences. Work will involve either driving a G or D licenced truck (depending on your licence), or assisting a driver in delivering freight. Freight will range in size from courier packages to larger items requiring 2-people or pallet jacks to handle. Some dock work may also be available.

Duties may include:

- Assisting the delivery driver in navigating the designated route and making timely deliveries. - Driving a delivery vehicle with or without a helper.
- Loading and unloading merchandise from the delivery truck using a pallet jack or other equipment as needed.
- Ensuring that all items are properly secured and organized within the truck for safe transport.
- Assisting with inventory management by accurately counting and verifying items during the loading and unloading process.
- Providing excellent customer service by delivering items in a professional and courteous manner.
- Following all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.

**Experience**:

- Previous experience as a delivery helper or similar role is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with manual transmission vehicles is a plus.
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks is a bonus.

Note: This position may require physical strength and stamina as it involves lifting, carrying, and moving heavy items throughout the day. Applicants must be able to meet these physical demands.
