The Manager, Foundations is responsible for managing stages of construction from excavation to backfill as well as grading, sodding and exterior completion.

**The Role**
- Responsible for the construction stages of excavation, forming of the foundations and grading and sodding.
- Accountable for creating foundation cut sheets and ensuring all Caivan foundation details are adhered to.
- Responsible for monitoring the quality of excavation, footings and foundation walls on a regular basis and take corrective action as necessary.
- Helps establish foundation and frost protection starts program for all sites.
- In charge of coordinating curb and sidewalk installation with our land development team.
- Develop and manage budgets with applicable cost codes and contract.
- Responsible for coordinating engineer and city inspections in relation to footing and backfill inspection.
- Responsible for managing winter heat program such as propane, propane heaters and straw.
- In charge of monitoring special soil conditions such as base conditions to ensure it is dealt with appropriately and that land development is aware.
- Accountable for ensuring all frost protection measures take place in the winter season.
- Accountable for coordinating driveway paving and ensuring all water boxes are working properly.
- Responsible for ensuring all street furniture is protected such as catch basins, fire hydrants, transformer boxes and gas valves.
- In charge of coordinating street sweeping, street flushing and snow plowing.
- Provide input to applicable contracts including all in excavation, foundation, UG plumbing, UG electrical, street sweeping, snow clearing and driveway contracting tenders.
- Communicate starts and schedules with relevant trades and work with trade partners to ensure on time delivery and quality of their work.
- Provide feedback on trade performance to Purchasing.
- Verify the work scopes are accurate/efficient in relevant contracts and provide updates as required.
- Inspects the work site continuously to ensure all employees and trades partners abide by Ministry of Ontario Labour regulations and Caivan’s Health & Safety Policies

**What You Bring**
- University degree or College Diploma related to Construction Engineering Technician, Civil Engineering Technology, or similar field
- 5- 7 years of experience in a similar role within a development or construction environment
- Excellent knowledge of Ontario Building code and Health and Safety Regulations.
- Analytical and detail-oriented with a keen focus on producing accurate and high caliber work
- Excellent communication and analytical problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated and excels both in a team and independently
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- The ability to organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
- A willingness to support the team as required and work in a collaborative manner
- The ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to manage a budget.
- Requires a vehicle with a G class driving permit
