We pride ourselves on providing staff and students with the tools to achieve success by offering dynamic programming, current resources, and practical professional learning opportunities. **EIPS is recruiting a full-time School Counsellor at Salisbury Composite High.** Salisbury Composite High serves approximately 1,500 students in grades 10 to 12, with 67 teaching staff and 23 support staff. The school is located in Sherwood Park, AB. Salisbury Composite High, "Home of the Sabres,” provides diversity in programs and excellent opportunities that prepare and develop students for the future. "Sabre Pride" is demonstrated through a positive learning environment in which the members of the school community work together to promote the attitudes, skills and knowledge that enable individuals to live caring, productive and fulfilled lives. - **Commencing August 26, 2025**: - **Open to internal and external applicants, priority will be given to EIPS teachers who hold a continuous contract and meet the minimum requirements of the position**: A master's degree in counselling and registered or provisional psychologist status is preferred. Consideration will be given to applicants presently working on a master's in this area. A minimum of five years of teaching experience, education in psychology or a related discipline with a focus on counselling, and Violent Threat Risk Assessment Training (VTRA) would be considered an asset. **Qualifications**: - Bachelor of Education degree - Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate - Effective organization and classroom management skills - Ability to create a classroom environment where students feel safe, supported, and challenged - Excellent verbal and written skills - Experience or familiarity with analyzing data and using data to inform decisions and/or instruction - Strong collaboration and teamwork skills - Growth mindset and ability to use feedback to improve practice - Relentless drive to set and achieve personal and professional goals
