**EIPS is recruiting a part-time School Counsellor at Glen Allan Elementary.**If you are interested in combining this position with another to create a school counselling position ranging from 0.8 to 1.0 FTE between two locations, please express your interest in your cover letter.
Glen Allan Elementary is an inclusive learning environment, serving approximately 280 students in kindergarten to Grade 6, with 33 engaged staff members. The school is located in Sherwood Park, AB. Glen Allan Elementary’s school goals focus on literacy, numeracy, and citizenship, with positive relationships being at the center of all our work. The school aims to engage, motivate, and inspire by focusing on individual strengths, interests, and real-world activities and by building partnerships with families.

- ** Open to internal and external applicants, priority will be given to EIPS teachers who hold a continuous contract and meet the minimum requirements of the position**:
A master's degree in counselling and a registered or provisional psychologist status is preferred. Consideration will be given to applicants presently working on a master's in this area. A minimum of five years of teaching experience, education in psychology or a related discipline with a focus on counselling, and Violent Threat Risk Assessment Training (VTRA) would be considered an asset.
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor of Education degree
- Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
- Effective organization and classroom management skills
- Ability to create a classroom environment where students feel safe, supported, and challenged
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Experience or familiarity with analyzing data and using data to inform decisions and/or instruction
- Strong collaboration and teamwork skills
- Growth mindset and ability to use feedback to improve practice
- Relentless drive to set and achieve personal and professional goals
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training
