Based out of Burlington, Ontario we specialize in renovations, retrofits, new builds and additions in the industrial/commercial/institutional sectors and we are a growing.

In this position you will report to the Vice-President of Construction and site manage one or more projects ensuring that own force and subcontract work meets or exceeds the client and/or consultant’s requirements. Ritestart Limited is a safety first contractor. It is the responsibility the Site Superintendent to enforce Ritestart Limited’s Health and Safety Program and the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulation for Construction Projects at all times.

Intermediate

You will:

- Enforce Ritestart Limited’s Heath and Safety Program and the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulation for Construction Projects at all times.
- Be a leader, be honest, be professional in all aspects of your work
- Motivate subcontractors and own forces to complete work safety, efficiently, on-time, and with quality.
- Quality control of all aspects of the work, spot check work for conformance by all trades.
- Review contract documentation in detail and understand all aspects of the work
- Problem solve on the fly, utilize resources available to get quick responses to issues, follow procedures to ensure all changes are brought to the attention of the Project Manager.
- Closely review and adhere to the project schedule, make amendments on the fly working with the project manager to keep the project flow.
- Prioritize to maintain good working relationship with clients, consultants, subtrades and local authorities.
- Organize and chair regular trade meetings and safety meetings
- Maintain your project site in a safe, organized, clean manner with proper signage to reflect company professionalism
- Provide any other duties as requested and required

Desired Knowledge/Skills:

- Related experience with a minimum of 3 years onsite construction experience
- 1 year minimum experience is Superintendent Role
- College, Technical Degree or Tradesman Certificate
- Solid understanding of all construction trades and construction techniques
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, shop drawings, complete layout and provide lines and levels, interference review and coordination and scheduling
- Up to date safety training is an asset including: Working at Heights, WHMIS, MOL 5 Steps & First Aid/CPR
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience managing labourers, sub-trades and suppliers
- Ability to make timely and rational decisions under pressure
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle is required
- Strong attention to detail
- Valid Driver's License, work truck will be provided upon request and review.
