Good Neighbors is an international humanitarian development non-governmental organization (NGO) founded in South Korea in 1991. After 5 years, we obtained consultative status with the United Nation’s Economic and Social Council (UNECOSOC). Good Neighbours Canada launched in March 2017 in London, Ontario, and moved to Scarborough, GTA in 2022. Under the Good Neighbors’ international governance, we focus on fundraising, refugee and newcomer settlement programs, and global development campaigns to support field projects.

**Social Enterprise Community Organizer**

The Social Enterprise Community Organizer will support the implementation and enhancement of inclusive workshops focused on business, entrepreneurial, and crafting skills for newcomers, refugees, and racialized individuals including seniors and youth living in and around Scarborough, while also managing vendor relations and fostering community engagement for the Goods4Causes social enterprise.

**Responsibilities**
- Workshop Design and Management:

- Identifying community needs and interests, and supporting with the implementation of a workshop series to develop community business, entrepreneurial, and crafting skills
- Identifying and securing workshop facilitators from newcomer, refugee, or people of color communities, and collaborating to align workshop content with community needs.
- Providing on-site support to the facilitator and attendees during workshops.
- Advertising:

- Developing a marketing plan for Good4People program promotion, emphasizing a commitment to inclusion for our target community of newcomers, refugees, and people of color.
- Utilizing social media, newsletters, and offline channels to reach the target audience and grow the number of newcomer, refugee and visible minority service users.
- Responding to community needs:

- Seeking feedback from our artisan community of workshop attendees, with specific reference to the inclusivity and relevance of the workshops for diverse participants, and analyzing feedback to understand participant satisfaction and areas for improvement.
- Working closely with facilitators to ensure the content remains valuable, inclusive and relevant.
- Supporting vulnerable community members to access the service
- Maintaining regular communication with current participants, and updating them on available support
- Researching new prospective participants aligned with the Goods4Causes initiative, and encouraging new members to participate
- Interviewing existing participants to gather information about their work and impact, to create engaging stories to showcase ‘spotlight stories’ on social media.
- Goods4Causes community engagement:

- Developing strategies to enhance community engagement and encourage collaboration within the Goods4Causes platform.
- Implementing initiatives to strengthen the sense of community and improve value for newcomer, refugee and visible minority participants.

**Qualifications**
- This position is funded by the Canada Summer Jobs scheme, therefore due to the funder’s requirements, applicants must be between the ages of 18-30 years old and hold Canadian citizenship or Permanent Residency.
- (Working towards) a degree or diploma in social work, social enterprise, marketing, business, communications or related field.
- Fluency in English language (spoken and written)
- Passion for community relations, social enterprise and equitable access to support for people with unique needs.
- Strong relationship building skills, appreciation for diverse needs when liaising with vulnerable groups, experience working with marginalized populations
- Strong project management and event coordination skills
- Efficient verbal and written communication for liaising with multiple parties in coordinating workshop events and seeking participant feedback
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
- Intersectional and inclusive relationship-building skills, with a commitment to promoting equity and demonstrating respect towards different cultures and the varied backgrounds of our partner artisans.
- Strong team coordination skills, time management and high degree of organization.

Pay: $18.00 per hour
