Good Neighbors is an international humanitarian development non-governmental organization (NGO) founded in South Korea in 1991. After 5 years, we obtained consultative status with the United Nation’s Economic and Social Council (UNECOSOC). Good Neighbours Canada launched in March 2017 in London, Ontario, and moved to Scarborough, GTA in 2022. Under the Good Neighbors’ international governance, we focus on fundraising, refugee and newcomer settlement programs, and global development campaigns to support field projects.

**Social Enterprise Sales Assistant**

The Social Enterprise Sales Assistant effectively coordinates sales across various channels, including to individuals within the GTA and to businesses for wholesale of handmade goods. In this way, they will support the financial inclusion and economic independence of our Goods4Causes community, which includes newcomers, refugees, racialized seniors and racialized young people living in and around Scarborough.

**Responsibilities**
- Promotion of equity-seeking artisans’ work
- Developing a thorough understanding of the social enterprise's inventory products, including their features, origin and social impact.
- Communicating the mission and values of the Goods4Causes social enterprise to potential customers.
- Providing general promotional support including creation of flyers and discount vouchers, designing social media engagement campaigns, supporting Marketing Coordinator with online marketing
- Providing support to update the Goods4Causes website to optimally showcase artisans’ stories and products
- Supporting the online store and online promotions
- Overseeing the social enterprise's online store on the Shopify platform, updating product listings, processing online orders, communicating with customers, monitoring progress and collaborating with the marketing team to implement online promotions and campaigns.
- Creating content for social media, collecting on-site content at markets and workshops, taking lifestyle photographs/videos, editing photos and videos in appropriate styles for differing social media channels.
- Development of community relations to inspire sales and customer engagement
- Transporting stock and equipment to market opportunities around the GTA, and coordinating market set-ups and take-downs. Access to own vehicle is required, gas and parking costs shall be covered according to the CRA reasonable allowance rate guidance.
- Designing attractive and inviting display booths that align with the social enterprise's values and brand, and encourage prospective customers to engage.
- Collecting and sharing customer feedback with the management team for continuous improvement.
- Development of business relations to improve financial stability for participating artisans
- Identifying prospective wholesale clients in and around Toronto that align with the social enterprise's values and target market.
- Developing a persuasive pitch outlining the benefits of carrying the social enterprise's products, emphasizing our social impact and unique selling points.
- Meeting with potential wholesale partners to present products and establish mutually beneficial relationships.
- Coordinating with Good Neighbours teams to place custom orders.

**Qualifications**
- This position is funded by the Canada Summer Jobs scheme, therefore due to the funder’s requirements, applicants must be between the ages of 18-30 years old and hold Canadian citizenship or Permanent Residency.
- (Working towards) a degree or diploma in marketing, business, communications or related field
- Fluency in English language (spoken and written)
- Strong sales skills with an ability to convey the value and uniqueness of products and the social mission behind them effectively to customers and prospective business partners
- Confident with photography, videography and editing in post, using tools like Adobe Premiere/Final Cut Pro, Photoshop, Canva)
- Comfortable managing a small sales booth, including cash handling, taking payments via card
- Access to own vehicle for stock transportation to in-person markets is required (gas and parking costs shall be covered).
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
- Intersectional and inclusive relationship-building skills, with a commitment to promoting equity and demonstrating respect towards different cultures and the varied backgrounds of our partner artisans.
- Basic understanding of online store management and web design a bonus.
