We are currently looking for a full-time permanent **Facility & Instrumentation Technician **to join our team.

**Reporting to the Director of Business Continuity & Facilities, the Facility & Instrumentation Technician is responsible for but not necessarily limited to**:

- Schedule full maintenance and repair of all smoking machines and peripherals in accordance to manufacturer’s specifications and recommendations
- Monitor and adjust the Controlled Environment Rooms (CERs) - potential computer programming involved
- Schedule maintenance and verification of most of the sample generation related equipment and instruments (e.g. Puff Volume Meters, oil pumps, etc.)
- Write and review standard operation procedure as CVMs or QSFs
- Commission and de-commission equipment and instruments
- Maintain the inventory specific to smoking machines and CER’s
- Potentially design and modify smoking machines or equipment, to meet analytical needs
- Assist Facility Coordinator with various requests (e.g. moving/ building or modifying equipment)
- Perform facility or safety related tasks in conjunction with other maintenance personnel or Facility Coordinator whenever necessary
- Maintain accurate records and logs
- Other duties as assigned
**Qualifications / experience required**:

- College Diploma or University degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Knowledgeable of all analyses
- Working knowledge of all machines, equipment and instruments
- Working knowledge of HVAC equipment (heating, ventilating and air conditioning)
- Knowledge of glassware cleaning procedures
- Knowledge of Sample Preparation and Sample Generation procedures
- Work cooperatively in a team environment
- Effective communication skills
- Mechanical and electrical aptitude
