Kinnections is seeking a contractors to provide hourly respite care for a family needing a break from the rewarding, but challenging, work of caring for a youth who requires extra support.

We are currently seeking a caregiver to support a 16-year-old girl.

**About the Role**

You will provide direct support and supervision in the absence of the youth’s guardian, ensuring her safety, well-being, and engagement. The role includes:

- Supporting and supervising the youth in various settings.
- Building a respectful, supportive relationship.
- Planning and engaging in activities - at home, at the park, or in the community.
- Administering medications as required.
- Completing clear, accurate contact notes after each shift.
- Participating in ongoing training and personal development.
- Maintaining a professional working relationship with the youth and her family.

You are:

- Warm, supportive, and encouraging.
- Optimistic and solutions-focused when facing challenges.
- Comfortable supporting individuals with special needs and complex behaviours.
- Willing to collaborate with both the youth and her family.
- Open to training and skill development.
- Able to work evenings and weekends.
- Diligent with required documentation and timelines.

**Qualifications**
- **Education**: Minimum high school diploma and 2-3 years related experience, _or_ a relevant post-secondary certificate/diploma.
- Hands-on experience with positive behaviour supports and complex behaviours.
- Canadian citizen or permanent resident, legally entitled to work in Canada.
- Clear Criminal Record Check and Intervention Record Check.
- Current First Aid with CPR Level C and AED.
- Class 5 driver’s license and vehicle (asset).
- Additional training in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, Medication Administration, and Trauma-Informed Care (asset).
