- Provides resident-focused food service in the Long Term Care Home, including: preparation of resident meals and snacks; distribution and service of resident meals; receiving, storing and managing the inventory of resident food and food service supplies; daily cleaning and sanitizing of dishes, utensils and equipment used for resident meal preparation, delivery and service; operation of equipment; as well as other related duties as required for compliance and the efficient operation of the home. Works according to all applicable standards, acts and governing bodies.
- **QUALIFICATIONS**:

- **EDUCATION**:

- Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent, plus
- Successful completion of one of the following as per legislation/Act:

- Food Service Worker certificate program
- Assistant Cook, Cook, or Institutional Cook certification program
- Food & Nutrition Management diploma or degree
- Active membership of the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management
- Registered Dietitian; or,
- An equivalent combination of education and/or experience as permitted by the applicable legislation/Act
- A current Safe Food Handling Certificate as required by legislation/Act- **KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE**:

- Up to 1 month of current related experience, preferably in a long term care geriatric setting
- Knowledge of kitchen opera
