Junior Estimator

PNL Communications and Electrical is currently looking for a Junior Estimator to join our team.

**Job Overview**
The Junior Estimator will play a critical role in our success in being award jobs and in ensuring that projects are completed within budget.

We are seeking a detail-oriented person with some experience in estimating both electrical and low voltage wiring (CCTV, Access Control and Structured Wiring). The Junior Estimator will be responsible to perform site visits on smaller projects/jobs to obtain requirements and also assist the Senior Estimator in estimating larger projects. This could include reviewing plans, determining requirements and specifications, performing material take-offs and obtaining quotations from suppliers.

**Duties**
- Communicate with customers, and potentially schedule site visits, to obtain requirements and information to properly quote work.
- Review project plans and specifications to develop comprehensive cost estimates.
- Utilize estimating software Procore/Service Fusion to prepare detailed proposals.
- Perform material take-offs in Procore
- Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to gather necessary information for accurate pricing.
- Build relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to negotiate competitive pricing.
- Analyze labor, material, and overhead costs to ensure accurate estimates.
- Prepare bid documents and present findings to management for review.
- Monitor project budgets throughout the construction process and adjust estimates as necessary.
- Maintain organized records of all estimates, bids, and related documentation.

**Skills**
- Some experience in construction estimating techniques and methodologies.
- Experience using Procore for estimating purposes would be an asset
- Excellent negotiation skills with a focus on achieving the best pricing outcomes.
- Ability to analyze complex data sets and make informed decisions based on findings.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy in all estimates.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, for collaboration with team members and stakeholders.

**Qualifications**
- Pertinent Education or Training (experience in electrical, Structured Wiring, CCTV, Access Control)
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
- Ability to communicate with supervisor and staff
- Must have a positive attitude, reliable, and team player
- A valid Nova Scotia driver's license

Pay: $46,045.64-$68,844.10 per year
