We have positions for both breakfast cook and evening cooks available - applicant must be flexible to work either and weekends.
**Duties & Responsibilities**:
- Prepares a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables and other food items using the chefs’ recipes
- Focus will be on salads and Hot Dishes
- Portions food products prior to cooking according to standard portion sizes and recipe specifications.
- Maintains a clean and sanitary workstation area including tables, shelves, grills, broilers, fryers, sauté burners, convection oven, and refrigeration equipment.
- Prepares item for broiling, grilling, frying, sautéing or other cooking methods by portioning, battering, breading, seasoning and/or marinating.
- Follows proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishes.
**Skills/Attributes Required**:
- General knife skills
- Organization
- Knowledge of produce, meat, seafood, cheese
- Knowledge of food safety
- Able to communicate effectively with other people
- Positive attitude.
- Hiring for the position of full time breakfast line cook., must have knowledge of breakfast dishes and have ability to plate according to spec.
- Opening shifts from 5am including weekends
- Must be able to effectively communicate with the team and front of the house.
- Line Cook duties include but are not limited to
- Hot and cold food preparation, including banquets when necessary, preparing sauces, soups and hot breakfast and lunch entrees for service and special functions, insuring that all stations are set for service
- Demonstrates recipe knowledge for all soups, sauces and entrees
- Daily cleaning of the kitchen is mandatory
**Job Types**: Part-time, Full-time
Part-time hours: 35 per week
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Nisku, AB T9E 8E2: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
**Experience**:
- Cooking: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- Food Safe, SafeCheck, Food Handler or equivalent (preferred)
